4. Transferring existing ISA funds into your ISA
Can I transfer my existing Cash ISA to my new Cash ISA?
Most of our ISAs allow you to transfer existing ISAs held to your ISA. This does not affect your yearly subscription allowance. You must hold an ISA which allows you to transfer in ISA funds and then arrange for the existing Cash ISA to be transferred.
To transfer existing ISA funds, either visit your local branch or print and complete the Application Transfer Form (pdf**) and return it to ISA Transfers, Savings Operations, Building 2 Ground Floor, Alliance & Leicester, Carlton Park, Narborough, Leicester, LE19 0AL.
Please note that the form must be fully completed in order for the transfer to take place. A separate form must be used for each transfer requested.
Remember do not put your existing ISA funds into a non ISA account if you want to transfer them into your ISA because they will lose their tax free status. You must use the Application Transfer Form (pdf**).
Please note that there are restrictions on the ability to transfer existing ISA subscriptions to Reward ISA and Easy ISA. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions for more details about these restrictions.
How can I transfer my ISA funds to an ISA with another provider?
If you wish to close your account so that you can transfer to an ISA with another bank, you must contact the bank you wish to transfer to. They will arrange for the transfer of funds directly from one ISA to the other. Do not put your ISA funds into a non ISA account as they will lose their tax free status.
Please note that transferring your ISA to another ISA is counted as a withdrawal and an interest penalty or loss of bonus or “reward” may be applied to your ISA. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions for more details about how withdrawals affect your interest.
